And kick off to Mardi Gras season! This is one of the only things I can say about Houma that I really really like. The traditions this region of the country has from its past and ancestors is something I wish every place had. It’s so different.

Mardi Gras is not only beads and parades. It is family traditions, king cakes, Christmas trees that turn into everything Mardi Gras, parties, wild decorations, and just overall excitement.

The parades are like no other parade I have ever been to. The people in the parades spend so much money on the the things they throw, and so much time making and decorating the floats. We never leave a parade without a wagon full of goodies.

This year we went to seven parades. Seven! We realized that we had so much fun last year at only one parade that we had to do as many as we could this year. And we had a blast! Birdie and HeyHey even came down to celebrate with us. This was their first real Mardi Gras parade and they had a blast! I’m glad we could all be together.
